I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in the State of Maryland and a graduate of The Johns Hopkins University in Clinical Counseling. I have more than 13 years of clinical work and a wealth of experience in Depression, Anxiety, Multicultural Issues, Mood Disorders, Crisis Management, Identity Issues and Development, Acculturation, Life Transitions, Relationships and Women's Issues.
My approach has been one that is welcoming and comforting to clients in meeting them where they are at and guiding them through their emotional struggles, working to change perspectives, having agency and empowering them to make the choices they need to live happy and fulfilled lives.
I use an Attachment based and Psychodynamic approach to delve into and understand the inner child wounds as well as a Trauma- Informed approach using mindfulness techniques, psychosomatic and mind body interventions, alongside a holistic wellness approach to health. I am also trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) which creates a space for clients to look at their thoughts, feelings and behaviors enabling them to reframe perspectives and change repetitive cycles and patterns.
I am open and comfortable with issues of Multiculturalism and Diversity. Having extensively traveled and lived in different parts of the world, I have a depth of understanding of cultures, societies and the intersectionalities of identities. Living in the US, I am able to connect, attune and create a safe, empathic space of understanding with clients of differing cultural backgrounds and identities.
Having immense experience working in a University Counseling Center, private practice and outpatient mental health clinics, I enjoy working with college age young adults, and adults wanting to understand themselves better, finding a new path to healing and healthier living.
I am also known for my passions of hiking, photography, writing on coffee cups, and love for International travel to experience different cultures around the world. This helps me to help others find their self worth, self value, self esteem and most of all self love.
I am here to help guide and walk beside you through your deep, healing journey towards peace and hope.
